Marla Bono-Fisher
I was born in Los Angeles, CA, the third generation in my family to be born and raised here. I have been married since 1991 and have three daughters. For as long as I can remember, I have been impassioned about infants and children. I started doing "doula" work in 1995, but only realized in 2015 that what I was doing had an official name. That year I began my training as a postpartum doula through DONA International, and went on to complete my certification in 2016. I wholeheartedly believe in continuing education, and have taken Breastfeeding for Doulas, as well as other workshops, to enrich my practice. I also have a degree in Political Science and International Relations from UCLA.

In addition to my work as a doula, I have been working as a California credentialed teacher in the Conejo Valley at Las Virgenes Unified School District for the past 15 years. I have also worked as a Health Office Specialist from 2009-2012 at Point Dume Elementary School in Malibu.

As a postpartum doula, I currently serve the San Fernando Valley, the Conejo Valley (including Agoura Hills, Westlake Village, Thousand Oaks and Ventura), West Los Angeles, and the South Bay.

It is my goal to support women and families during the unique and special time that is postpartum. Helping you have a smooth transition into life with your newborn, giving you the knowledge you need to be confident parents, and easing your recovery from birth are all part of what I can offer you.
